Early Life

Mohammed Aamir Hussain Khan was born on March 14, 1965, in Bombay, Maharashtra, to parents Tahir Hussain and Zeenat Hussain. Many of his family work in the Hindi film industry, including his father who was a film producer, and his late uncle, Nasir Hussain, was a producer and director.

Aamir is the oldest among four siblings. He has one brother, Faisal Khan, who is also an actor, and two sisters, Nikhat Khan and Farhat Khan. He is the uncle of Imran Khan, a contemporary Hindi actor.

At an early young age, Aamir already started acting. He landed minor roles in two movies, Yaadon Ki Baaraat and Madhosh. During his early education, he went to J.B. Petit School but later transferred to St. Anne’s High School, where he studied until his eighth grade. He finished his ninth and tenth grade at the Bombay Scottish School.

Aside from acting, he is also into tennis. Back in the day, he was considered to be more interested in sports rather than his studies. He played tennis for various championships and even became a champion for a state-level tournament.

In April 1986, Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta got married. Together, they have two children, Junaid and Ira. In 2002, Aamir filed for divorce and the two children lived with their mother. After six years of being together, the couple had a son through surrogation. His name is Azad Rao Khan.

Khan followed Muslim practices but switched to a non-vegetarian lifestyle to veganism as inspired by his wife, who was a Hindu.
