Before the Ant-Man movie was considered to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe a lot of people were not really optimistic about the project. It was after the movie success of ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ that Disney and Marvel pushed the first Ant-Man film.
The Age of Ultron film has set the bars of expectations for all other succeeding Marvel movies, with a high film earning, box office hit, and critical success. From the producers’ point of view, Ant-Man was quite risky. If the movie has failed it would threaten the universe platform that Marvel has created. The risk that follows the Ant-Man is that the movie has no big actors, character names, or any attractive superhero ploy.
But nonetheless, the Ant-Man movie came out as an amazing film with charming lead actors, side characters, and a well-thought story plot. Its success grossed an estimate of 500 million US Dollars on a budget of 130 million US Dollars. Its second film ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ has earned over 620 million US Dollars, in 2018.
Even with that amount of earning, it was not the highest gross earning for the Marvel franchise, but the movie did make solid returns. Considering what happened in the film ‘Avengers: Endgame’ and the film’s success, we can expect a third Ant-Man movie.
Many fans and viewers also expect to see more of Ant-Man and the Wasp. However, during the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel, out of all the upcoming projects, did not make any announcement of the third movie following the Ant-Man series. But, we can always have a glimpse of hope since Marvel is good at keeping details, movie secrets, then up for a big surprise.

The First Two Films Recap
The first movie of Ant-Man started by introducing the life of the main character Scott Lang. He just came out of prison and he is struggling with divorce, his daughter’s custody, and bankruptcy. He thrived to change his life and turn around. Then he met Dr. Hank Pym, who was astounded by Scott’s personality and skills. Dr. Pym influenced Scott, gave the suit to him, and made him the Ant-Man. They worked together to fight against Darren Cross and his Yellowjacket program.
The second movie happened after the ‘Avengers: Infinity War’. It followed the story of Ant-Man and The Wasp. It has different layers of plots where Dr. Pym tries to compensate for his wrongdoings and his daughter in an effort to meet her mother. They fought off a ‘Ghost’, who is trying to save herself from a painful phase of life. The story also gives the viewer more in-depth information about the quantum realm.
Ant-Man 3: Plot
We can expect that the plot for the third movie will be much more diverse while at the same time webs from the overall Marvel Universe platform. Aside from the first two Ant-Man films, there are also other MCU films that contribute to the plot of the third film.
It has been known that Marvel in its Phase 4 will be going to a more cosmic setting or environment, we can also expect different superheroes showing in the film.
It will continue the story of Scott Lang as Ant-Man, together with Dr. Pym, and his daughter Hope. In the third film, many fans also want to see more action and story from the Wasp. Putting her as the main story plot of the film will also be a treat.
But if we follow through the storyline of the ‘Endgame’ where Scott met his daughter all grown up, Cassie Lang can also be a part of the third movie.
The director of the first two films has shared some insights stating that what we have known about the quantum realm so far is just the tip of the iceberg. We can now expect that all will be revealed in the third film.
Ant-Man 3: Cast & Crew
If there will be an Ant-Man 3, we can definitely expect to see the same list of main characters with their roles. It is very unlikely for a franchise to change main character roles in a series, especially in the MCU.
Lead roles are Paul Rudd as Scott Lang or Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Pym or The Wasp, Michael Douglas as Dr. Pym, Michael Pena as Luis, and Michelle Pfeiffer as Wasp.
We can expect that we will see newer characters, which actors are yet to be cast.
Though the Ant-Man series is not earning that much compared to other MCU films, it still is a positive look in the overall MCU franchise. We owe it to the director Peyton Reed for delivering a unique and interesting film series.
Marvel has carefully selected its executive and production crew for every movie just to get and give the best film. Reed and his crew have already proven themselves with different projects in the MCU. He would most likely spearhead the third movie of the film.
Ant-Man 3: Release Date
There has not been any talk or official call from Marvel for the third movie series of Ant-Man.
We only hear several teaser statements from actors who played major roles in the film.
If there will be a third movie, we can expect to see it in the last part of the MCU Phase 4 or earlier to middle in Phase 5.
Since Marvel is well known for its surprise and unique way of announcing, so fans still have their hopes up for any announcement anytime soon.
Ant-Man 3: Movie Trailer
Since MCU has not released any formal statement with regards to the upcoming Ant-Man 3. There is no movie trailer for this film.
You can see other videos that may relate to the third film but it is most likely a fan-made video based on their assumption, movie discoveries, and theories.
