Before this scandal, Dr. Bryant had been married to Gizelle Bryant- one of the casts of The Real Housewives of Potomac.

Jamal preached his first sermon at the same church when he was 18 years old before transitioning to becoming the head pastor at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in DeKalb County years later.
