Kobe was born on 23rd August 1978 in Philadelphia. He was the last born in a family of three and was the lone boy. Basketball was in his blood as his dad Joe Bryant was a former NBA player and his uncle John Cox. Kobe’s mum was known as Pamela Cox Bryant.

The name Kobe was from the famous Japanese beef. His second name Bean was from his dad’s nickname Jellybean. Kobe Bryant’s love for basketball was discovered at the age of three, and he was a massive fan of the LA Lakers.
