Early life:
Born on January 19, 1982, in South Bend, Indiana, Pete Buttigieg was the only child of his parents. His father Joseph Buttigieg was a Jesuit priest by profession and hailed from Malta. His mother Jennifer Anne Buttigieg was from Indiana. After migrating to the US, his father served as a professor of literature at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. He later joined Notre Dame and served there for almost 29 years.
