Stranger Things is a Netflix Original Series that became an instant ‘must see’ series that compels a lot of viewers to be addicted to the show. It has a refreshing fusion of the 80s era and sci-fi gimmick that leaves a unique impression among the audiences.
The show was a success gaining several positive feedbacks from fans and critics. This can also be proven by the listo of nominations it has received. It has been nominated 39 times in the Primetime Emmy Awards, winning 6 of the nominations and 4 Golden Globe Awards.
The series was an outcome of pure genius from the Duffel Brothers and they have already produced 3 seasons. Now, a lot of fans and viewers are looking forward to a fourth installment of the series. Here are the things you need to know and expect from Stranger Things 4.

Early Seasons Recap
To have a better understanding of the fourth season, let us have a brief recap and look into the first three early seasons of the show.
The first season was released in July 2016 with a total of 8 episodes. The story started in a small town of Hawkins, Indiana, where everyone knows everyone, and an incident occurs leading to the disappearance of Will Byers. It followed a chain of events that are unexplainable which started to destroy what has been a peaceful community. Government agencies and the supernatural forces began to emerge in the town, where several of the locals began to notice the events.
The second season was released in October 2017 with a total of 9 episodes. The story continues a year after the abduction of Will where he finds himself the target of a large tentacled entity called the Mind Flayer, who continues to terrorize the town. The whole group of Jonathan (Will’s brother), Steve (Nancy’s boyfriend), Dutin, Mike, Lucas, Eleven, and Max (Newcomer), have joined forces for the purpose of preventing and defeating the threats.
The third season was released in July 2019 with a total of 8 episodes. The story continues during the summertime of 1985 in the town of Hawkins. Jim Hopper (Town Chief of Police) is not comfortable with the friendship of Eleven and Mike, while their friend Joyce decides to move out of the town for a better prospect, this leaves her relationship with Hopper and with her friends hanging. Joyce began to notice a fluctuation in her magnets and decided to investigate, while Will’s awareness began to see things otherworldly, Eleven and Max had also felt the sudden changes on the town people. They may have closed the portal but it seems that they are still in danger from it.
Stranger Things Season 4: Plot
The fourth season plot will start away from the town where Joyce and his sons together Eleven as they have transferred their base. The relationship of Nancy and Jonathan will continue to grow to a commitment and long term. Many would also expect that there is a chance, Steve will come back.
In this season, the involvement of the Russians with the existence of the portal will be thoroughly explained and there is also a possibility, that there are more than one portal existing in or near the town.
The story might also include a back story on an event where Eleven found some boxes in Hopper’s attic labeled as ‘dad’, ‘New York’, and ‘Vietnam’.
What we can anticipate is more of the in depth detailed about the mystery that embodies the town. Yet alone, the movement of the plot will depend on the writers, producers, and director to make an extension or include new characters to open up a new avenue of the story.
Stranger Things Season 4: Cast & Crew
These series has starred one of the famous actresses, that has won the Golden Globe Award, she is Winona Ryder who plays the role of Joyce Byers, the mother of Will, David Harbour as Jim Hopper, Finn Wolfhard and Mike Wheeler, Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair, Natalie Dyer as Nancy Wheeler, Charlie Heaton as Jonathan Byers, and Cara Bruno as Karen Wheeler.
We can expect to see the same main cast in the fourth installment, it is very unlikely that major character roles will change during this critical season.
Other characters like Billy, played by Dacre Montgomery won’t be returning as his role ended by the death of his character. In addition to the season 4 cast will be Priah Ferguson as Erica, Maya Hawke as Robin, Brett Gelman as Murray, Jamie Campbell Brown as Peter, Eduardo Franco as Argyle, and Joseph Quinn as Eddie. The production also expected to have more other characters included.
New character roles for new actors or actresses that will be added on the fourth season is still subjected to production casting.
Stranger Things Season 4: Release Date
Looking at the pattern of the first 3 season release, and the fact that Netflix has already renewed the franchise for a fourth season since September of 2019. The filming and production team already started moving late of 2019 and early in 2020. Unfortunately, because of the ongoing pandemic of the COVID-19, the production was put on hold, luckily it resumed October of 2020.
With this information we can safely assume that filming is still going and considering the factors that may affect delay, the season 4 of Stranger Things will be released in the late 2021 or early 2022.
Stranger Things Season 4: Movie Trailer
Since the fourth season of the franchise has already been confirmed. Netflix immediately released a teaser trailer that got everybody excited. However, many fans were disappointed as they have not released any new trailers during the 2021 Super Bowl.
You can watch other trailers of the past seasons on any social media or entertainment platforms. There are also fan made videos that tells their opinions and theories of the upcoming series.
Nevertheless, we can hope and wait that there will be news from the fourth season anytime soon.
